Do you ever wish you could ban blame in certain situations?

Consider how much more productive you could be if you didn’t need to battle blame in the workplace.

Consider how your family dynamics would change if there was less blame at home.

Consider the difference between a team whose full focus is on winning and a team that is constantly blaming circumstances or teammates.

Consider how the tone in Washington would shift if politicians couldn’t blame anyone but themselves.

What if more people blamed less?

Blame usually holds us back

When we’re too quick to blame circumstance, we install a glass ceiling on our potential.

When we’re too quick to blame others, we turn potential allies into adversaries.

Blame can serve as a gateway drug to shame, scapegoating, and all-out war.

And who hasn’t seen the damage blame can do when it infects a friendship, a home, a team, a school, an office, or a church?

Introducing The Blame Less Project

In 2020, a pastor named Chris began asking what might happen if people blamed less. Not never. Just less.

What he discovered was too good to keep to himself!

Below you’ll find links to five-part sermon series that he developed for the congregation at Emmanuel Covenant Church in Shoreview, Minnesota.

These sermons offer an overview of the blame less basics. You can download or stream them for free.

We envision a day when the Blame Less movement spreads to every state and every major sector of our society.

Consider what could happen if growing numbers of parents, teachers, coaches, supervisors, entertainers, athletes, influencers, religious leaders, and politicians (yes, even politicians) made a conscious commitment to blame less and inspired others to do the same.

Is the goal of inspiring and equipping blame less enthusiasts in every state and every major sector of society ambitious? Absolutely!

But we believe it’s an idea whose time has come.

We invite you to journey with us

We’re in the process of crafting a course that will help people (religious or not) understand why we’re so quick to blame and how blame can be far more self-defeating than most people realize. The course will also explore the benefits of blaming circumstance less, the benefits of blaming others less, and the relationship between blame, shame, and scapegoating.

Over time, we’ll add additional context-specific content and coaching for families, couples, workplaces, teams, schools, churches, and more.

Here’s how you can help

Step One
Begin by watching, listening to, or reading the content we created for Emmanuel and familiarizing yourself with the framework.

Step Two
Begin living the lessons.

Step Three
As you begin experiencing the benefits of blaming less, share your story with others and point them to this site.

Step Four
Stay tuned as new capacities are developed and blame less enthusiasts are invited to help us develop and test new tools, post and refine content, and spread the word about this new movement with the potential to transform friendships, families, teams, businesses, churches, communities, and more.

We invite you to experience the difference blaming less can make!

As we discover the power of these game-changing principles, let’s inspire and equip our loved ones, co-workers, neighbors, nation and world to experience the same.

Spread the word. After all, helping more people blame less is what The Blame Less Project is all about!
